Faro Laser Tracker Service
The FARO Laser Tracker ION is an extremely accurate, portable coordinate measuring machine that enables MTR to measure more quickly, simply and precisely than previously possible.
MTR uses its extensive knowledge of real-world measurement applications, to maximize the laser trackers ability to perform the following:
- Alignments that are accurate and less time-consuming than traditional methods
- Frequent measurements to show distortions in machine guide ways
- Real-time measurements to confirm tolerances and validates alignments
- Lay-out and level machines
MTR’s Laser Tracker service provides fast accurate surveys and enables us to capture a 3-D measurement quickly and easily, which allows us to see a much larger picture of how a machine really moves.
Renishaw Laser Interferometer
The system measures linear positioning accuracy and repeatability by comparing the position given on a machine’s controller display with the true position measured by the laser. These values can then be viewed, printed and statistically analyzed by the system’s software to national and international standards. In this way, machine’s positioning accuracy can be verified and significantly improved, quickly and easily.
Renishaw Ballbar Measurement System
MTR’s ballbar service is often the quickest, easiest and most effective way to monitor machine tool condition. The heart of the system is the ballbar itself, a very high accuracy, telescoping linear sensor with precision balls at each end.
In use the balls are kinematically located between precision magnetic cups, one attached to the machine table and the other to the machine spindle or spindle housing. This arrangement enables the ballbar to measure minute variations in radius as the machine follows a programmed circular path.
The data collected is used to calculate overall measures of positioning accuracy (circularity, circular deviation) in accordance with international standards such as ISO 230-4.
